Access Group looks to PRSB standards to help ensure better data integrity in social prescribing services

Data integration plays a pivotal role in ensuring that people receive holistic and effective care. The Access Group, a supplier of software solutions for health and care and local government organisations in the UK, is looking forward to working with us to help provide and share more consistent and effective information leading to better outcomes for people.

The team at Access Elemental Social prescribing within the Access Group aims to integrate its social prescribing software with different systems, so that health and care professionals no longer need to spend hours on admin tasks re-keying the same information across multiple systems. Instead, everyone involved can have access, from the start, to the same information, including GPs who can access and track the person’s social prescribing journey, with the person benefiting from improved continuity of support and care. It will also empower the person to take an active role in their care and support.

Through joining our Standards Partnership Scheme, the Access Group hopes to be able to show how following our standards and accelerating interoperability can facilitate the effective decision-making and delivery of social prescribing and other health and care services. Access Elemental Social Prescribing is looking to become the first social prescribing solution to be conformant against the PRSB’s Social Prescribing Standard because they feel the standard will help manage social prescribing referrals more effectively. This in turn, will ensure there is more consistency in how link workers record social prescribing data and fed this information back to the referrer and the individual themselves. The Access Group also sees the value of their solutions being assessed against our About Me Standard, Personalised Care and Support Plan Standard, as well as 111 Referral Standard.

Leeann Monk-Ozgul, Co-Founder and Operations Director at Access Elemental Social Prescribing, said: “We know how important PRSB standards are across all areas of health and social care – we are excited to work together and see what other opportunities will arise and how our expertise in the sector will help drive positive changes in the delivery of health and care. Our priority at the moment is to be able to highlight the impact of integrating social prescribing software with leading clinical systems on individual’s social prescribing journeys.”

Lorraine Foley, CEO at the PRSB, added: “Social prescribing is a key building block for personalised care that the NHS, local government and social care is aiming to offer to more people in the coming years. We are pleased to welcome Access Group as our partner and delighted to hear that they are already thinking about getting conformant against our Social Prescribing Information Standard.”
