CareDocs on a mission to help deliver personalised care with their latest PRSB conformance achievement

As of today, 26 digital health and care system suppliers have met the PRSB’s Personalised Care and Support Plan Standard, enabling thousands of individuals to co-create their care plans and actively manage their own care. CareDocs, which has been proudly supporting care providers for 15 years, is the latest supplier to achieve conformance with this standard.

The standard allows individuals to have a single, shared personalised care and support plan, which all health and care professionals can contribute to. Adopting the Personalised Care Plan standard will address a common issue where separate care plans created by different professionals or teams, are not shared, not coordinated, and fail to provide a holistic approach to meeting a person’s care needs.

Speaking of the conformance process, James Harris, Digital Product Manager at CareDocs, said: “The assessors we spoke with were very lovely and guided us on areas that we were missing. They were extremely well informed and have worked with us as a partner to ensure that we found a good balance of making our product conformant to standard but also fit for purpose from an end-user point of view.”

The PRSB conformance process is not new to CareDocs – last year, they also became conformant with the About Me Standard.

James fully understands the role of information standards in helping to improve the consistency and quality of data, supporting the provision of safer and better care “They promote better care by reducing the risk of misunderstanding, speed of absorbing data, and ultimately delivering the best possible care to our customers’ residents”.

Conformance with PRSB standards has paved the way for our Partner to work towards compliance with other standards: “Since achieving conformance with the PRSB, we have also become fully compliant with NHS Data Standards, and now we’re on our way to being fully compliant with the NHS DSCR framework.”

Thinking of long-term benefits for CareDocs and the wider care system as a result of their PRSB accreditation, James added: “We hope to see enhanced care outcomes, operational efficiency, empowered workforces and fostering partnerships through the use of data standardisation.”

Lorraine Foley, CEO at the PRSB, commented: “Congratulations to CareDocs for achieving another milestone in their mission towards creating more integrated, personalised care through achieving conformance with our standards.

“The more system suppliers follow CareDocs’ example, the faster we can deliver and grasp the benefits of person-centred care.”
