IBM joins the PRSB Standards Partnership Scheme

We are delighted to announce that IBM, a leading global hybrid cloud, AI and consulting provider, has joined the PRSB as a partner.

IBM partners with health and care providers and system suppliers to improve how care is delivered to people by using data and technology. IBM is strongly focused on making sure that information flows digitally between professionals, systems and patients for better, safer care. The organisation believes that interoperability and the consistent recording of information is key to this work – this is why they have become a PRSB partner.

Looking ahead, IBM will be working on achieving conformance against the About Me Standard, which will be pivotal to their UK-wide work with the NHS and social care as it will join up the information that flows between them. ‘About Me’ is a critical step in creating a more personalised model of health and social care engagement as it helps capture people’s preferences.

Dr Mark Davies, Chief Health Officer at IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences, said: “We believe the work of the PRSB is fundamental to creating a coherent data architecture that supports interoperability and ultimately delivers joined-up care.”

Lorraine Foley, CEO at the PRSB, said: “I am pleased to welcome IBM as our latest partner, and we are excited to work with a renowned global organisation that is forging solutions that will deliver  interoperability and integrated care.”
