Health Diagnostics partners with the PRSB to improve the quality of health checks through standards

With over 1.2 million NHS Health Check appointments taking place each year, it is vital that this prevention initiative is delivering positive outcomes for population health. Health Diagnostics help their clients – often local councils and NHS trusts – embed quality, value, and resilience at every level of their health check initiatives. A key objective of Health Diagnostics is to ensure that anyone having a health check is empowered to understand the impact of their current lifestyle on their personal health and wellbeing.

Health Diagnostics decided to join the PRSB as a Partner because they fully concur with our mission to deliver ‘better records for better care.’ They understand that interoperability is key to enabling more streamlined workflows of healthcare staff and delivering personalised care. In their view, by ensuring that data efficiently reaches where it needs to be, those whose data it is – the people – are placed firmly in the driving seat of improving their own health outcomes.

Over 110,000 health checks are delivered annually using Health Diagnostics’ Health Options® CS solution, with results electronically transferred back to the patient’s record at approximately 25% of GP practices in England. “This is primarily why we are interested in going through conformance assessment for the PRSB’s NHS Health Check Standard, which has been developed to ensure that high-quality data is regularly collected and can be used effectively to risk-assess attendees”, representatives from Health Diagnostics confirmed.

Speaking of partnering with the PRSB, Julie Evason, Managing Director at Health Diagnostics, said: “Quality is a principal value for Health Diagnostics. Our desire to join the PRSB has been driven by the need for all those working in the health tech space to demonstrate their strict adherence to industry and ethical standards.”

Having developed an industry-leading reputation, experienced representatives from Health Diagnostics are also keen to engage and input into the future development of relevant standards.

Lorraine Foley, CEO at the PRSB, said: “I am delighted to welcome Health Diagnostics as our new Partner and pleased to hear about their plans to be assessed for conformance with the NHS Health Check Standard. Demonstrating conformance is definitely something that organisations who prize quality want to do. We look forward to working with Health Diagnostics and supporting them in this process.”
