Standards in clinical AI: Aligning innovation with patient safety

AI

AI experts and clinicians came together for a PRSB partner event exploring how standards can support the safe and effective use of clinical AI across the NHS. The session, Standards in clinical AI: Aligning innovation with patient safety, was aimed at system suppliers and was attended by PRSB partners, member bodies and other stakeholders, providing an opportunity for suppliers to hear directly from experts working across clinical practice, AI development and regulation.

The Q&A-based discussion focused on how clinical AI works with unstructured data, the role of standards in enabling structured and shareable information, and how the regulatory and compliance landscape for clinical AI is evolving. Panellists also considered which frameworks matter most for maintaining patient safety, alongside the opportunities and challenges facing organisations developing, supplying or implementing AI technologies in health and care. The session concluded with open discussion and questions from the audience.

🎥 A recording of the event is now available for anyone who would like to watch the session back or share it with colleagues who were unable to attend.
