The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing is a registered charity dedicated to improving the nursing care of people in the home and community. They work through their national network of Queen’s Nurses, who are committed to the highest standards of care. They also develop field-specific standards that support specialist, advanced university qualifications for nurses.
The Institute funds nurses’ own ideas to improve patient care, while supporting leadership programmes for both senior executives and aspiring community leaders. They influence government, policymakers and employers, campaigning for investment in services, and provide help for community nurses in times of financial need. They also link up working and retired nurses, offering regular contact to strengthen connections across generations.
