An introduction to Oliver Lake

Interview conducted in September 2021

What made you want to join the PRSB?

After 23 years in the NHS, I was really interested in working in a smaller organisation with a clear purpose that I could really get behind.  I’ve had a long-term interest in IT, information and transformation as well as engagement and co-design – so I was excited to understand what the PRSB did and how I could add my skills to the team.

As the new director of delivery and transformation, what do you think you will be able to contribute most to the role?

I really want to help our people be their best – whether that be around our systems and process for project delivery, working with our members and stakeholders, making sure we have the right skills and resources in the team, or developing trusted partner relationships with our commissioners.

What are you most looking forward to about working with PRSB?

Working alongside true experts in their field and demonstrating the impact of what we do for clinicians and people.

Tech wizard or tech muggle?

I’m a bit of a halfway house, although I am the first point of call with family and friends to fix a broken gadget, I am using knowledge that is probably way out of date!  The most interesting thing to me is understanding how we use technology to make our lives easier, and seeing people benefit from it.

What would your superpower be and why?

Currently (two weeks into the role here at PRSB) I would like the power of insta-tech-speak, as I’ve been warned it can take up to 3 years to learn everything that we do!
