I am the digital advisor (Midwife) at the Royal College of Midwives.
I am an enthusiastic digital leader who is dedicated to providing and promoting inclusive healthcare through Information Technology. With over 10 years midwifery experience, I took a leap into the world of information technology in 2016 and have never looked back. I have worked on various healthcare IT projects including the roll out of electronic patient medicines administration (EPMA) within two NHS trust. More recently I have worked as a clinical informatics midwife, where I was responsible for providing direction, liaising, promoting awareness and engagement between maternity and the information technology (IT) department. Within this role I ensured maternity services embraced the national digital maternity transformation agenda, whilst also ensuring technology procured and used were safe and meet the needs of staff and women. My passion is in digital transformation and as the digital advisor at the RCM I am able to identify, raise awareness, support and promote the changing digital needs of student midwives, midwives, maternity support workers, maternity services and other relevant midwifery specialists on a national level. I am a fellow of the faculty of clinical informatics and set to complete my masters in Business and Management in March 2022 from Kent Business School.
