PRSB joins key healthcare leaders at HETT Show and witnesses the growing awareness of the role of information standards in digital health
The PRSB once again joined one of the most popular shows in the digital health space – HETT Show, on 26 – 27 September. During the event, we had the chance to catch up with our sector colleagues, members and partners, and make new contacts from across the digital health community.
Our representatives participated in three panel sessions to give their views and perspectives on some of the most trending topics in the sector at the moment. On day one, PRSB’s CEO, Lorraine Foley, joined the panel focusing on the role of ICSs and voluntary care sector in integrated care, where she implored that accessing and sharing a person’s information is key to enabling the continuity of care and facilitating collaboration between health and care organisations.
Oliver Lake, our Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer, highlighted how system suppliers’ conformance against the Core Information Standard can help accelerate the progress on shared care records, and how joining up health and care is key to that. Oliver also expressed the need for the widespread implementation of information standards, which should be facilitated by mandation.
On day two, Lorraine contributed to the discussion on data collaboration with social care, where she stressed out the importance of bridging the gap between health and social care and getting the discharge information right. She agreed that technology is an enabler, but collaboration and standards are the means of making this possible. Here, Lorraine was joined by Lee Rickles, Yorkshire & Humber Care Record Programme Director and CIO Network Advisory Board Member, who’s also a PRSB member. Lee agreed that “without standards in place, we can’t get to the main stage.”
During the sessions, we were delighted to hear comments recognising the role of information standards in building more integrated care and improving the efficiency of clinicians’ work and people’s outcomes.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and to those who attended our sessions!
