Leading healthcare technology provider, TPP, enrols on to the PRSB Standards Partnership Scheme

PRSB welcomes clinical software supplier, TPP, to its Standards Partnership Scheme, as the latest organisation to commit to improving information sharing for health and care through adoption of standards.

For TPP, partnering with PRSB as an authority on standards for digital information sharing in health and care was the right move. TPP’s ambition is to improve access to clinical data and empower patients to take an active part in decisions about their care, through its flagship product, SystmOne.

Entering a landmark 25th year since being founded by Frank Hester OBE, TPP now provides critical clinical IT services to more than a third of acute mental health trusts and over 2,600 GP practices around the world, serving 250,000 users and providing full medical records to 2.5 million patients.

Commenting on this new partnership, Ben Lawman, Design and Analysis Lead at TPP, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to be joining the Standards Partnership Scheme and we plan to begin by looking at the following standards: eDischarge Summary, Emergency Care and Outpatient Letters.”

“For us, these were key standards to focus on as there’s nowhere better to ensure commonality between providers and systems than at the point that a patient leaves the care of one service and enters the care of the next. This is where the work of PRSB is having the biggest impact. It is especially important that we ensure organisations can effectively transfer care in support of the more integrated pathways that we expect the ICS model to drive. SystmOne has long provided effective data flows into Acute and Emergency Department settings, and ensuring all of the key information captured on SystmOne during an admission, ED attendance or outpatient appointment can be shared out in a consistent manner will improve the quality of the cross-organisational data flows that we are constantly working to strengthen.”

PRSB CEO, Lorraine Foley, commented: “It’s great to have TPP on board. The organisation exists to enable integrated care by making regular sharing of standardised data the norm, and that mission is exactly the reason why the Standards Partnership Scheme has been established. Working in partnership with TPP through scheme will contribute towards the delivery of digital benefits to care that all of us have long sought.”
