Share your views on the PRSB maternity standard

We’re seeking views to help us develop a standard for maternity records, with a new survey for professionals and mothers to complete.

The maternity record standard is designed to ensure that information about a woman’s pregnancy can be easily shared with everyone involved in maternity care, so that women receive better and safer care. Through this survey, you can help us to determine how information should be recorded in a maternity record. The survey closes at noon on 19 March 2018.

In partnership with NHS Digital, the Royal College of Midwives, and the Royal College of Physicians’ Health Informatics Unit (HIU), the standard aims to ensure that key information is shared digitally between GPs, hospitals, midwives pregnant women, and anyone else involved in care.

This is the second survey of the project, and focuses on the information collated and after the birth. It follows on from two workshops held at the end of last year, and a first survey, which focused on the information collated during the booking-in process and throughout antenatal care.
