Examining information required to triage patients who need crisis care

PRSB study examines information needed for call handlers and health professionals in crisis care

Crisis Care

In 2015-16 the PRSB undertook work to develop standards for information needed for call handlers and health professionals in crisis care.

This project examined the record standards needed for crisis care summaries, to ensure that people are dealt with properly and offered the appropriate care when they have a health crisis.

This phase of work focused on standards for Special Patient Notes and End of Life Care plans.

The work was commissioned by the Healthy London Partnership who initially plan on implementing the standards to provide crisis care summaries for 111 services in London.

This work was completed in May 2016, and will be published following professional body endorsement in an overall standards update release in Autumn 2016.
